One lovely day in the countryside, I wandered over the hill and strayed far away, headed for my secret place in the woods. The snow was gone, plants were sprouting and animals were beginning to awaken from their long slumber. Delightful creatures big and small, including many adorable baby critters, call this woodland their home. On the wings of joyful expectation, I got to my secret place but what a shock! My friends were destitute. Their home, the once so enchanting forest, was no more. In its place lay a gaping wasteland, like a mouth without teeth.

That made me so sad. It took only a few months to destroy what nature designed to last for centuries. With the forest gone, the tiny abandoned critters became unhappy. Why is the world such a cruel place for the hapless helpless critters?

Forests are essential for life on our planet. Fewer forests mean less rain, less oxygen for us to breathe. A world without forests? How deficient that would be! Baby animals are rapidly disappearing as their homes fade away. I must do something to stop the devastation.

What should I do when I find an abandoned wild animal or worse, an abandoned, injured baby animal?

Help the beautiful creatures find a sanctuary! The Critters are in trouble! Help them survive and preserve the beauty of the world.
